A kid good enough to keep playing shouldn't need luck to get seen.

Every fall Friday night, there's a kid out there good enough to keep playing football after high school. He's just never going to get the chance. Not because he isn't good enough, but because nobody who could offer him a shot ever saw him play.

The gap we built this to close

That happens everywhere. Small towns where the nearest college coach has never heard of your school. Inner-city programs with more talent than resources ever come their way. Anywhere a kid doesn’t have someone in his corner who knows how recruiting actually works, or what levels are even out there for him.

His coach knows he can play. Almost nobody outside that building does.

That’s the gap we built VeerHQ to close.

The problem, in one line

Talent is everywhere. Visibility isn’t.

A kid’s shot at playing in college shouldn’t depend on whether a college coach happened to drive through his town.

Why we're called VeerHQ

To veer means to change direction. Not drift, not wander off — actually change course, usually because something opened up in front of you that wasn’t there a second ago.

That’s what this is supposed to do for a kid. A lot of these players are headed a certain direction right now, whatever direction things happened to point them, and they have no idea there’s another path sitting right there. A shot at playing in college. School paid for, through academic aid or a shot at an athletic scholarship depending on the level. A future that looks nothing like the one they’re currently walking toward, just because somebody finally saw them.

We named it VeerHQ because that’s the whole point. Give a kid the chance to veer. Change direction the second a real opportunity shows up, even if nobody was pointing him toward it before.

What we're trying to do

Give every high school football player a real shot at getting seen by the right college program.

Doesn't matter how small the school is

A one-stoplight town gets the same shot as a national powerhouse.

Doesn't matter your zip code

Where a kid grew up shouldn’t decide who gets to see him play.

Doesn't matter what your family knows

You shouldn’t need a family member who’s already been through recruiting to do it right.

The kind of game we want

A coach once said life isn’t fair, and he couldn’t think of a better way to learn that lesson than in the game of football. He’s right about that. A bad bounce, a blown call, a torn ACL two weeks before the biggest game of your life — football will teach you that lesson whether you’re ready for it or not. That’s part of the game. We’re not trying to change that part.

But there’s a difference between the unfairness that’s built into the game and the unfairness that happens before a kid ever gets a real shot. A good player at a small school with no film budget, no camp money, no connections — that’s not the same kind of unfair. That one, we can actually do something about.

Learn the first lesson on the field. It’s a real one, and it’s worth learning there. We just want to make sure whether a good player gets seen isn’t one of the unfair parts anymore.

On the field. In the classroom. That’s it.

How it actually works

We built VeerHQ so high school coaches and players can get in front of the right people at college programs directly. No cold email into a black hole, no application that goes nowhere. A real recommendation from a coach who’s actually watched the kid play, sent to a college coach who’s actually looking for that position.

Not every fit is going to be right. That’s fine. The point isn’t a guaranteed offer, it’s getting a real conversation started that wouldn’t have happened otherwise.

Adult to adult, first

Conversations start coach to coach, or family to college coach, before a player ever gets contacted directly.

That’s not just a rule we added. It’s the whole reason we built it the way we did.

Starting in Indiana

VeerHQ started in Indiana, so that’s where we’re rolling out first. Right now the goal is simple: let every verified Indiana high school coach recommend their players straight to college programs across the state, from FBS down to JUCO. Once that’s working the way it should, we’ll move into the Midwest, then keep opening it up from there.

If you’re a school, high school or college, outside Indiana and want in early, email help@veerhq.com with your details. We’ll verify you and get you added.

Why it's free, and staying that way

Some recruiting sites charge players hundreds of dollars for basic exposure. Others charge both sides just to connect them. We don’t think that’s right. A kid shouldn’t have to pay to be seen, and a family shouldn’t have to guess if some premium package is the difference between getting found or not.

VeerHQ is free for players. That’s not a launch promo — that’s the point of the whole thing. As we grow we’ll probably add paid tools for programs to use, but we’re not going to charge schools just to make a connection happen. If we’re going to grow this game, we want to do it for the right reasons. That’s where we’re starting.

Always free for players and families

Creating a profile, connecting with a high school, and hearing from colleges never costs a player anything.
